Health is the foundation of Freedom

Mission is here for You.

Let us answer a few of your most common questions. :)

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper function to your musculoskeletal system. By gently adjusting the joints, chiropractors help reduce pain, improve mobility, and support your body’s natural ability to heal itself — without drugs or surgery.

What conditions can a chiropractor help me with?

Good question! We have a list:

Auto-accident injuries

Spinal & Postural Issues such as back pain, neck stiffness, scoliosis, issues from poor posture, spinal misalignments, degenerative disc disease, herniated or bulging discs, sciatica, kyphosis or lordosis imbalances.

Joint & Limb Pain such as Jaw pain/TMJ disorders, shoulder and rotator cuff issues, carpel tunnel and wrist pain, knee pain, hip pain, ankle pain, etc.

Nerve & Neurological Concerns such as nerve compression, radiculopathy, numbness or tingling in hands/feet, headaches, migraines, vertigo, dizziness, post-concussion support

Muscle and Soft Tissue Problems such as muscle spasms, chronic muscle tightness, myofascial pain syndrome, sports injuries, and work-related strains & sprains.

Chronic conditions and wellness support such as Fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic fatigue related musculoskeletal pain, stress-related muscle tension, pregnancy-related pain, and pelvic pain.

Performance & Preventative Care such as injury prevention for athletes, improving flexibility and mobility, and assisting in the recovery process after physical strain.

What can I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit usually includes:

A thorough consultation about your health history and current concerns

A physical exam

A personalized care plan designed just for you

If warranted, you will receive an adjustment the same day if it appears to be the right course of action and there are no contraindications.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Yes! Chiropractic care is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, and non-invasive forms of health care. I use gentle techniques tailored to your comfort level, and adjustments are always performed by trained professionals.

Do adjustments hurt?

Most patients describe adjustments as relieving — not painful. You may feel a light pressure or hear a “pop” (that’s just gas being pulled into the joint). Many people feel immediate relaxation and improved mobility afterward.

Read more on the mechanism behind this:

"The cracking mechanism relies on nitrogen gas dissolved in synovial fluid. When pressure inside the joint cavity is sharply lowered by mechanical expansion this draws the nitrogen gas out of solution, producing cavitation bubbles. The nitrogen bubbles collapse, producing the cracking noise. The nitrogen requires around 20 minutes to fully dissolve back into the synovial fluid, leaving the joint able to produce another set of cavitation bubbles and cracking noise."

How many visits will I need?

That depends on your condition and health goals. Some patients experience improvement in just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing care to correct posture, strengthen muscles, and maintain long-term spinal health. I  will discuss a plan that fits your needs and lifestyle. If you have minor issues and are out of any acute pain, your care will be as needed moving forward.

Do you take insurance?

It varies depending on the provider! Please call or email us to confirm. Thank you :).

Can chiropractic care help with pregnancy?

Absolutely. Prenatal chiropractic care is gentle, safe, and effective for relieving back, hip, and pelvic pain during pregnancy. It can also help promote proper pelvic alignment for an easier, smoother delivery.

Can my child or baby see a chiropractor?

Yes — pediatric chiropractic care uses extremely gentle techniques tailored to children’s needs. It supports healthy growth, posture, and nervous system function, and can help with issues like colic, sleep troubles, or tension from birth.

Do chiropractors work with other holistic practitioners?

Yes! We often combine chiropractic care with acupuncture, massage therapy, and lifestyle guidance to address the root causes of discomfort and promote whole-body wellness.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear something comfortable and easy to move in — similar to what you’d wear for light exercise. Avoid heavy layers, belts, or jewelry around the neck or waist.

How soon will I feel better?

Many patients feel relief after their first visit, though lasting improvement often comes with consistent care, posture changes, and supportive lifestyle habits. Healing takes time — and we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No referral is needed! You can book an appointment directly — chiropractors are primary care providers, meaning you can come in anytime you’re ready to start your wellness journey.

How do I maintain results between visits?

We’ll teach you home stretches, posture exercises, ergonomic tips, and lifestyle habits to support your spine and keep your body functioning at its best.

What conditions can Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine help me with?

Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, is a comprehensive and holistic system of healthcare that has been practiced for thousands of years. It offers a wide range of benefits and can be used to address various physical, emotional, and wellness-related issues. Here are some common areas where Chinese medicine and acupuncture have been found to be beneficial:

Pain Management: Acupuncture is well-known for its effectiveness in relieving pain, including chronic pain conditions such as back pain, neck pain, joint pain, muscle pain, and headaches.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) also found it helpful for dental pain, addiction recovery and relief from addiction pain during withdrawal, menstrual cramps, fibromyalgia pain, and myofascial pain.

Neurological Conditions: Acupuncture has shown potential in reducing the frequency, intensity, and duration of headaches and migraines. In combination with herbal remedies and relaxation exercises, we can help reduce stress and promote a sense of calm and balance.

Other conditions we can help with include Neurogenic Bladder Dysfunction and Parkinson's Disease; as a complementary approach, helping to alleviate symptoms like tremors, stiffness, and mobility limitations associated with Parkinson's Disease.

Acupuncture has exhibited promise in stroke rehabilitation, assisting in motor recovery, balance enhancement, and overall functional improvement. Dr. Son Duong is also well versed in neuro-acupuncture with years of study and practice. We are confident we can assist with these conditions.

Digestive Disorders: Chinese medicine offers effective solutions for digestive issues like indigestion, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and gastritis. Overall, Acupuncture can assist in regulating digestive function, mitigating inflammation, and alleviating symptoms associated with gastritis and IBS.

Respiratory Health: Acupuncture can help manage respiratory conditions like asthma, allergies, sinusitis, and bronchitis by improving lung function and reducing inflammation. We are confident we can provide relief from symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and sinus pressure linked to respiratory allergies and sinusitis.

Hormonal Balance: Chinese medicine and acupuncture are often used to regulate hormones, making it useful for addressing menstrual problems or discomfort, menopause symptoms, and fertility concerns and aim to optimize hormone balance.

Mental Health: Acupuncture and herbal remedies can be integrated into mental health care to support conditions such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Acupuncture may aid in reducing anxiety and depression symptoms by inducing relaxation, improving sleep quality, and stabilizing mood. For insomnia and nervousness, acupuncture offers a natural approach to enhance sleep quality and reduce nervousness.

Immune System Support: Chinese medicine is known for enhancing the body's natural defenses, making it valuable for those seeking to strengthen their immune system. As they say, your body has an incredible capacity to heal itself. Acupuncture simply reminds it of this innate power.

Chronic Conditions: Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can provide relief for individuals with chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), and autoimmune diseases.

Weight Loss and Management: Chinese medicine offers holistic approaches to weight management, addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of overeating and obesity.

Acupuncture plays a role in appetite control. By stimulating specific acupuncture points, it can help reduce cravings and overeating, especially beneficial for those who struggle with emotional eating. It can also boost energy levels for physical activity, enhance digestion and optimize nutrient absorption. Stress is a common contributor to weight gain. Acupuncture has been found to alleviate stress and anxiety, promoting healthier eating habits and, consequently, weight loss.

For those affected by hormonal dysregulation that affects their weight, Chinese herbal medicine, often paired with acupuncture, works to regulate hormones involved in metabolism and weight management, such as insulin and leptin.

For personalized guidance and treatment, it's advisable to consult with Dr. Son Duong. He can assess your individual situation and create a tailored plan to help you achieve your weight management goals. Wellness Nurse Yen will help you achieve those goals through our health coaching program.
